Hi! I’m rubedox, a Multimedia Artist who is exploring the new possibilities of the Crypto Art world. I’m a passionate of graphic art and digital animations, also I love to drawn and create digital artwork and experiments who only exists in the screen, the internet; and now, the blockchain. I think this new paradigms are revolutionary in terms of the de-materialization of Art, that; like a paradox, makes it more accessible than ever in history to the audience.
Today I’ve wanted to talk a little bit about the creative and technical process behind my first “Crypto” Artwork.
For my first contribution to the Non Fungible Token Art I’ve created three GIF animations that are related to some basic concepts. I’ve called this “The Red Series” because of the color palette I choose for it. Basically, I’ve worked with red, black and white colors and values.
Those pieces are inspired by the meaningful and powerful symbology of the alchemists from the Middle Age. Also there’s some reference to the Mudras: specific hand positions used in Hindu’s and other Oriental cultures as a part of a wide variety of meditation techniques. Those hand positions and gestures connects with intangible energies who help to concentrate the body and mind when one is meditating.
I’ve did some hand drawings and frame by frame animation using the traditional techniques. Then I’ve combined it with some digital animations to add fluidity to each piece, and as a kind of personal mark add some typography and small glitch effects, trying to combine both the new and old look into one synthetized work.

This is my first step in the Crypto Art scene. I see a big potential in this new world who are growing up rapidly in front of our eyes. I expect to put all my creations there from now on.
Also this new reality is making me think a lot about the theoretical implications of it in the Art History, the Visual and New Media Studies, and the Sociology of Art in contemporary terms. Well, I’m also a passionate of art theory and maybe you can find me here in Medium writing in the future about those topics, like the intersection between art, science and technology, the new paradigms of visualty through the blockchain based art and his implications on a new and revolutionary art economy.
